Competition Format & Structure

  • Schedule: Rounds to be played fortnightly, beginning Tuesday, 10th November 2026.

  • Venue Advantage: Home player/team retains the home venue advantage.

  • Break Choice: The break is decided by a lag for each match.

  • Neutral Venues: From the Semi-Finals onwards, a suitable neutral venue will be allocated by the Competition Secretary.

Match Formats

  • Knockout Stages: Race to 3 frames

  • Semi-Finals: Race to 4 frames

  • Finals: Race to 5 frames

Entry Criteria

Entry Criteria & Conditions

  • Pair Composition: Pairs must consist of 1 male (at birth) and 1 female (at birth).

  • Membership: All players must be registered MPL members.

  • Entry Fee:
    • £10.56 per pair online (includes processing fees).
    • £10.00 per pair when entering in person at SSSC or Silktown.

  • Venue Notice: Must advise Lewis Ditchfield of your preferred home venue.

  • Closing Date: Entries close on 18th October 2026.

Rules

Competition Rules

  • Rule Set: All frames are to be played according to International rules.

  • Alternating Breakers: Breakers must alternate between partners. For example, Player A from the team breaks first, and when it is that team's turn to break again in a subsequent frame, Player B must break.

  • Shot Clock (Finals Only):

    • A 45-second shot clock will be introduced for the final match.

    • Each team is allowed one 15-second extension per frame.
