Lucky Dip Pairs 2026 (Christmas Edition)
Saturday 05 December 2026 - 12:00
The "Lucky Dip Pairs" Competition
This competition is designed to give newer and less experienced players a genuine chance to win, levelling the playing field much like a Pro-Am format in golf.
How It Works
-
Categorisation: Once all entries are counted, every player is assessed based on their skill level and league standing, then sorted into Group A or Group B.
-
The Lucky Dip Draw: A randomised draw pairs one player from Group A with one player from Group B to form each team.
-
Tournament Format: The event kicks off with a group stage, followed by a standard single-elimination knockout phase.
Scoring System
-
1 point per frame won.
-
1 point for winning the match.
-
0 points for a dish or reverse dish.
Group Stage Advancement (Based on a 20-pair turnout)
-
Structure: 4 groups of 5 pairings.
-
Progression: The top 3 teams from each group advance (12 teams total).
-
Byes: Group winners earn a direct bye straight through to the Quarter-Finals.
-
Preliminary Round: 2nd-place teams face off against 3rd-place teams in a seeded preliminary knockout round to determine who joins the group winners in the Quarters.
Tie-Breaker Rules (in order):
-

Frames won
-
